" I want an officer for a secret and dangerous mission. I want a West Point football player."
Chief of Staff General George C. Marshall, during World War II
Vision of CoachJT.Net
As football coaches for young men we have a big responsibility to not just coach them the game of football, but to teach them about life, adversity and leadership. My favorite quote regarding football is above from General Marshall during WW II. It shows not only the need for a smart West Point officer, but a member of a team that can be trusted and depended on. One that will finish the mission. My vision is to help coaches to guide their players on their journey to become responsible adults, using football as just one small stepping stone to becoming our future leaders.
Why another football web site?
In my travels teaching at various clinics, it appeared evident that many youth coaches were not only looking for X's and O's, but for assistance with practice planning, team building and leadership. This site was "stood up" for this exact purpose.
I commend each of you for coaching this great game of football and maybe I can help you, if even just a little bit, be successful. I plan to provide help for multiple levels of football coaching. Specializing in assisting the youth football coach in all areas of the game. Especially that portion that we sometimes forget, the psychological part. JT
